A mother of four was fatally shot by her former boyfriend, whom authorities described as deeply fixated on her, and left her injured in a car park near a shopping center.
Savannah Kulla, aged 29, was tragically discovered lifeless outside a shopping center, where her ex-partner, Anthony Deschepper, aged 38, allegedly abandoned her. The distressing incident unfolded in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where Deschepper reportedly abducted Savannah and their one-year-old daughter. Fortunately, the baby was later found unharmed with relatives, who revealed that Deschepper had left the child in their care. Subsequently, law enforcement launched a search for Savannah’s former partner.
Local law enforcement and Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit successfully located Deschepper at a gas station in Niagara Falls around 2:30 AM on Wednesday. Following an interaction with officers, Deschepper was fatally shot by a policeman. Medical responders arrived promptly, but Deschepper was declared deceased at the scene. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today.
During the investigation, a firearm was recovered at the location, although there was no indication that Deschepper had discharged it. Additionally, a woman linked to Deschepper was apprehended at the scene; however, her identity and connection to Deschepper remain undisclosed. Reportedly, she was driving the vehicle that Deschepper had been in before the incident unfolded.
Karen, Savannah’s grieving mother, disclosed that her daughter had recently ended her relationship with Deschepper. Karen shared with CityNews Everywhere that Savannah had expressed her need to distance herself from him, indicating that she had made it clear to him that the relationship was over. Since the tragic loss of her daughter, Karen admitted to being emotionally overwhelmed, emphasizing Savannah’s dedication to her children.
Confirming that Savannah and Deschepper shared a one-year-old child, Karen mentioned that her three sons are currently under the care of their father, Savannah’s former partner. Reflecting on the situation, Karen expressed relief that Deschepper was no longer a threat to her grandchildren in light of his behavior when he acted irrationally.
Following the devastating event, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated by a childhood friend of Savannah to support her children. The fundraiser highlighted Savannah’s unwavering love for her kids and her commitment to their well-being. The family’s objective is to ensure that Savannah’s children receive the care, stability, and affection that she would have provided them with every single day.
