“Two Winners Scoop £1 Million Each in December’s Premium Bond Draw”

Published:

The results for December 2025’s Premium Bond draw were unveiled today, bringing good news to two individuals who have each won a £1 million prize.

Every month, two lucky winners secure £1 million through Premium Bonds. This time, the first winner resides in Norwich, owning £35,000 worth of Premium Bonds with the winning bond number 591RD417238 acquired in August 2024. Meanwhile, the second winner hails from Cornwall, holding £20,000 in Premium Bonds with the winning bond number 615WP633178 purchased in February 2025.

Premium Bonds, offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), differ from traditional savings products in that they enter participants into a monthly prize draw instead of providing a fixed interest rate. Prizes range from £25 to £1 million, with the majority of prizes being of smaller denominations.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, expressed congratulations to the winners and highlighted the festive spirit among Premium Bond holders. He emphasized the ongoing popularity of Premium Bonds, with over 22 million individuals investing in them.

The maximum amount that can be saved in Premium Bonds is £50,000, with each £1 investment generating a unique bond number. The odds of winning a prize each month stand at 22,000 to 1 per £1 bond.

Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I and can choose to have their prize deposited into their bank account or reinvested in Premium Bonds. Tools like the NS&I online prize checker and the Premium Bonds prize checker app can be used to verify if a prize has been won.

The prize fund rate, currently at 3.60%, serves as a benchmark for Premium Bonds’ returns. While the rate has slightly decreased recently, the number of smaller prizes has risen. Despite adjustments, two £1 million prizes are still awarded monthly.

In the most recent cut to the prize fund rate, which occurred in the August 2025 draw, the rate was reduced to 3.60%. Nearly 23 million individuals are currently invested in Premium Bonds.
