“O2 Introduces Faster 5G+ Upgrade Across UK”

O2 has officially announced that millions of its customers are receiving a complimentary quick upgrade. This upgrade entails the introduction of faster 5G+ services to users throughout the UK, offering improved mobile coverage and significantly faster download speeds. O2 guarantees a 50% increase in speed compared to older 4G networks.

Apart from speed and reliability enhancements, the upgrade is also expected to prolong battery life as devices consume less power by not needing to connect to both 4G and 5G networks simultaneously, a feature absent in older standard 5G networks that rely on 4G support for operation.

The rollout of this upgrade is currently underway for users with 5G+ compatible devices and SIM cards, with over 700 towns and cities already activated for the service.

Christian Hindennach, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Media O2, elaborated on the upgrade, stating, “Our 5G+ service is now accessible to millions of customers across the UK, and uniquely, it’s available to all O2 users across all Plans, setting it apart from other networks.”

Hindennach continued, “The upgrade enhances performance in busy areas, including large venues that host significant crowds, benefiting both residents and visitors. This is another demonstration of Virgin Media O2’s dedication to improving our network and providing a more reliable user experience. We are investing £2 million daily to help our customers adapt to the upcoming mobile innovations.”
