A woman from the UK, who was in Turkey for a breast augmentation procedure, has reached out on social media asking for prayers following a frightening earthquake experience. Identified as Courtney on TikTok with the handle @keepingupwithcourts, she shared a video after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Balikesir region, expressing her distress over the intense thunder and lightning.
The earthquake caused buildings to collapse in Sindirgi, resulting in numerous injuries and spreading panic in the vicinity. The tremor was even felt in Istanbul, over 200 miles away from the epicenter.
Courtney, unaware of the seismic scale, shared her concerns about the situation, mentioning the previous destructive earthquake and the challenges they were facing due to the severe weather conditions. She pleaded for prayers to ensure their safety, emphasizing her desire to return home to her child after investing in the breast surgery.
The earthquake occurred at 1:048 pm local time, with subsequent aftershocks causing further disruptions. Despite the damage, no fatalities were reported, with 22 individuals sustaining injuries from falls during the chaos.
