“Google Introduces Option to Change Gmail Addresses”

Published:

Google has announced a significant update for millions of Gmail users, offering the option to change email addresses. This new feature allows users to modify their Google Account username, the part before @gmail.com, used for accessing various services like Gmail, Photos, and Drive. The original email address will remain functional alongside the new one, ensuring no messages are missed. Google assures that existing data such as photos, messages, and emails will be unaffected by this change.

While this update is a welcome addition, it is currently only available in the United States, leaving users in the UK excluded for now. Users in the US can access this feature by navigating to their Google account settings, selecting personal info, then email, and finally Google account email to make the desired changes. It is important to note that only one new email address can be created every 12 months. Users are advised to monitor their settings to check for the availability of this update.
