A young girl described as “beautiful” tragically died suddenly in a car park just one day before her ninth birthday. Emergency services responded to an incident at Kingwells park and ride on Skene Road in Aberdeen when eight-year-old Olivia Grace Edwards fell ill around 8.40 pm on Saturday, October 25.
Despite immediate transportation to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for urgent medical care, Olivia was sadly pronounced dead shortly after. In light of this tragic event, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by family friend Kathryn Campbell to support Olivia’s parents, Mark and Georgina, with unexpected funeral expenses.
The fundraiser message conveyed the heartbreaking loss, emphasizing Olivia’s charming personality and the impact her passing had on her family and friends. The exact cause of Olivia’s untimely death remains unknown. Tributes poured in online, with individuals expressing condolences and sharing their sorrow for the family’s loss.
Following the incident, authorities swiftly launched an investigation and secured the area at Kingswells Park and Ride due to the “unexplained” nature of the death. Police confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Olivia’s passing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson updated on the situation, stating that they responded to the child’s illness report and that the death is being treated as unexplained with no apparent foul play. Those willing to contribute to the GoFundMe initiative can do so by clicking the provided link.
