A former Apple employee, previously known as Sam Sung, recently shared that he decided to change his name to avoid becoming the subject of online mockery. The individual, now identified as Sam Struan, gained online attention in 2012 when a picture of his Apple store business card went viral. Originally from Glasgow, the 36-year-old worked for Apple before relocating to Canada.
Following an incident where a customer pointed out the similarity between his name and a rival tech company, Sam opted for a name change to evade unwanted attention that could impact his future job opportunities post-Apple. Now working as a successful recruitment consultant, he explained that he selected the surname “Struan” after a beloved village on the Isle of Skye.
