“Heated Rivalry” Season 2 Cast Adds Big Names

Published:

The Canadian hockey drama series, “Heated Rivalry,” has added three new cast members for its second season. The show, produced by Bell Media’s Crave streaming service, gained international popularity in its first season and boosted the careers of lead actors Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie, and François Arnaud.

Recently announced rookie additions to the cast include Milla Jovovich, known for her roles in the “Resident Evil” franchise and “The Fifth Element,” Kevin Zegers from “Gossip Girl” and “Transamerica,” and Paul Gross, famous for “Due South” and “Men With Brooms.”

The series, inspired by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” books, portrays a hidden romance between two rival hockey players, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Paul Gross will portray hockey league commissioner Roger Crowell, Kevin Zegers will play Coach Wiebe, and Milla Jovovich will take on the role of Dr. Galina Molchalina.

The new cast also includes Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Emily Hampshire, and Priyanka, among others. Emily Hampshire, in a recent interview, expressed her excitement about being part of the show and praised the creator and director, Jacob Tierney.

Despite its success, “Heated Rivalry” is not eligible for this year’s Primetime Emmys but received numerous accolades at the Canadian Screen Awards. The shooting for the second season commenced in August and is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027 on Crave.
