“Canada Men’s Soccer Team Prepares for Friendly Matches”

Published:

Canada’s national men’s soccer team is preparing for two upcoming friendly matches in Toronto and Montreal, with some key players missing from the roster. Captain Alphonso Davies and goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau will not be available for selection, as announced by head coach Jesse Marsch. Davies from Bayern Munich is absent due to his marriage celebration and honeymoon, while Crepeau of Orlando City has personal matters preventing his participation. Additionally, defender Moise Bombito will miss out after confirming his need for another surgery on his left tibia following the FIFA World Cup.

The squad selected by Marsch includes 17 players who participated in the recent World Cup, where Canada achieved a historic run before exiting in the Round of 16 against Morocco. Ranked 30th globally, Canada is scheduled to play against Chile, ranked 49th, in Toronto on September 26, followed by a match against Peru, ranked 50th, in Montreal on October 3. The team will then face the United States, ranked 16th, in St. Paul, Minnesota, on October 6.
