Claiming eleven hammer throw victories, securing the Canadian title, clinching a Commonwealth Games gold medal, and smashing both North American and national records are just a few of the standout accomplishments in the track and field career of any athlete.
These are just a glimpse of Camryn Rogers’s exceptional achievements in 2026. The reigning Olympic and world champion had a stellar season, earning a nomination as one of the top 10 women’s athletes of the year by World Athletics, selected by a panel of international athletics experts.
The final ranking will be determined through a four-way vote closing on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. ET. The three women finalists will be revealed on Nov. 10, with the winner announced at the World Athletics Awards in Monaco on Nov. 29.
Hailing from Richmond, B.C., Rogers concluded her season triumphantly with her 11th victory, launching a throw of 77.09 meters at the Silesia Diamond League event in Chorzow, Poland.
Reflecting on her stellar performance, Rogers expressed her delight, stating, “This season has been amazing. I have had the best throw of my life, and to close the season with this throw is wonderful.”
Looking ahead, Rogers plans to prepare for upcoming competitions, including the world championships and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, after returning home to Richmond and taking a well-deserved break before training in Texas.
