“B&M Introduces Affordable Lush-Inspired Shower Gels”

Published:

B&M customers have expressed their satisfaction with the store’s new range of shower gels, stating that they offer a cost-effective alternative to pricier brands. The discount retailer’s shelves now feature skincare products reminiscent of Lush, including some of its popular scents, but at a significantly lower price point.

According to B&M, their Sweet Dreams shower gel is infused with a blend of “clean citrus, calming herbs, and snuggly vanilla-woody warmth”, designed to help users unwind. Priced at £2.99 per bottle, customers have drawn comparisons between this product and Lush’s Sleepy range, typically priced from £6.50.

B&M bargain hunters were quick to notice similarities between the Frosted Fairy shower gel and Lush’s Snow Fairy collection, a popular Christmas offering. The B&M version boasts a blend of bubblegum, nostalgia, frosted pear-peach, and vanilla sweetness.

Both shower gels contain 500ml of product and are priced at £2.99, presenting a more affordable option compared to Lush’s starting price of £7.50. Customers also found matching scents available in body butter and body sprays, each priced at £3.49.

The new products gained positive feedback online when shopper Rachael (@lifewithrachaelg) showcased them on TikTok, describing them as “fab.” She highlighted that the pink shower gel smells remarkably similar to Snow Fairy but at a fraction of the cost.

In response to the TikTok video, users expressed excitement about trying the products, particularly praising the cost-saving aspect compared to Lush prices. However, some raised concerns about the quality and ethical standards, with one user emphasizing Lush’s reputation for using high-quality ingredients and ethical practices.

For those seeking similar scents, alternatives can be found at Aldi with its Sweet Angel shower gel or at Primark with the Frost Angel collection starting at £3.50. This trend of retail stores offering Lush-inspired products is not new, as seen with Lidl’s release of £1.99 shower gels inspired by non-seasonal scents last year, which garnered significant attention from consumers.
