Renowned Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel Horwood, has taken on a new role outside the ballroom. Tasked with examining and celebrating Brits’ particular habits regarding their homes, the discerning judge brings his meticulous eye and flair for detail to this unique venture.
A recent study of 2,000 adults revealed that a significant 80% of Brits admit to being particular about various aspects of their domestic environment, including tidiness, ornament placement, decor choices, and personal touches.
Key priorities for many respondents included rules against putting feet on sofas, ensuring cutlery is always returned to its designated spot, and never leaving the house without making the bed.
Commissioned by interior brand Sofology, the survey led to the appointment of Craig Revel Horwood as the ‘Head of Fusstomer Experience.’
In his new role, Craig expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am thoroughly enjoying my position as the head of fusstomer experience. It’s fantastic – I’ve never held such a significant role before, but now I feel extremely important. Known for my high standards and outspoken nature, I demand nothing less than absolute fabulousness.”
The research also found that 82% of participants believe there is nothing wrong with being particular about one’s home aesthetics, with 60% sticking to their unique routines and preferences regardless of external opinions.
Partners were identified as the main rule-breakers in households, causing frustration and dissatisfaction among individuals, although a quarter of respondents choose to remain silent when their rules are violated.
Interestingly, the study revealed that people’s meticulous tendencies extend beyond daily annoyances and are particularly heightened when expecting guests, with respondents spending an average of 44 minutes preparing their homes for visitors.
A spokesperson for Sofology emphasized the importance of catering to individual styles, stating, “We celebrate the art of selection, starting with understanding our fusstomers. We pay meticulous attention to detail to meet even the highest standards of our fussiest customers.”
