Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed frustration over receiving unsolicited beauty advice, as she shared her experience on Instagram. Frederiksen, who recently returned from Ukraine where she encountered air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, revealed that she received a message from a plastic surgeon offering to address a perceived flaw on her nose.
In her Instagram post, the 48-year-old leader disclosed that she has been subjected to numerous comments about her appearance, including criticisms about her teeth, hair, and a supposed “wart” on her nose, along with suggestions for Botox injections. She posted a screenshot of the plastic surgeon’s message without revealing the sender’s identity and firmly stated her contentment with her body, emphasizing that she does not require unsolicited opinions from a male plastic surgeon.
As a Social Democrat and Denmark’s second female prime minister currently serving her third term, Frederiksen has solidified her position as one of Europe’s most experienced and long-serving leaders since assuming office in mid-2019. She remains steadfast in opposing U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland, a Danish semiautonomous territory, and continues to support Ukraine in its conflict against Russian aggression.
Frederiksen emphasized on Instagram that she respects individuals’ choices regarding their appearance and urged others to engage in more meaningful discussions. She highlighted the unnecessary nature of unsolicited beauty advice and shared a message of solidarity with those who face similar pressures.
