Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season concludes. The rising British tennis star ended her season prematurely in October due to health issues.
Raducanu’s journey this season had its highs and lows. She secured notable wins at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her position as the top British player. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the end, notably at the Ningbo Open, where she required medical assistance and lost in the opening round.
After encountering these obstacles, Raducanu made the decision to end her season early but confirmed that she would continue working with coach Francisco Roig for the upcoming year. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.
Having withdrawn from her last two tournaments of the year while ranked 29th, Raducanu’s aspiration of breaking into the top 32 was uncertain. Without earning additional ranking points, she awaited confirmation on achieving this milestone.
With the season now concluded, Raducanu closes the year as the world No. 29. Barring a challenging start to the 2026 events, she is likely to be seeded in Melbourne.
In early October, Raducanu set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open, emphasizing the importance of a higher ranking for tournament success. She also highlighted the significance of being a role model and maintaining a positive attitude on and off the court to inspire younger generations.
Raducanu currently stands as the sole British player within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka securing the top spot. Sky has announced a reduced price for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering extensive live sports coverage, including over 1,400 matches across various leagues.
Sky is set to broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League games next season, a substantial increase from previous seasons, providing fans with more viewing options.
