Family of Slain Mexican Man Pleads for Justice

Published:

The family of Pablo Osorio Sánchez is urging Mexican federal authorities to connect his death with the investigation into the January abduction of 10 Canadian mining company employees. Osorio Sánchez was taken in the same location and timeframe as the Vizsla Silver Corp. workers. His body was found in the same hidden graves where nine of the kidnapped workers were discovered.

His family believes that details surrounding the Vizsla Silver kidnappings could shed light on Osorio Sánchez’s case. Jaime López, the uncle of Osorio Sánchez, expressed the family’s need for answers regarding the circumstances of the kidnapping and the perpetrators involved.

Osorio Sánchez was last seen walking to a bus stop in Concordia, near where the Vizsla Silver workers were taken. His body was found buried in a clandestine grave labeled “Grave 2” in El Verde, along with other bodies. Autopsy results revealed he died from a gunshot wound and blunt-force trauma.

The family is devastated by the loss of Osorio Sánchez, who was the eldest of three brothers. The grave where he was found also contained the remains of the nine kidnapped Vizsla Silver workers, with similar signs of trauma.

The lawyer representing the family, Maurillo Santiago, highlighted the separate investigations being conducted by different branches of the Attorney General’s Office. Yetzy Santiago Lorenzo, another lawyer involved in the case, raised questions about the secrecy surrounding the discovery of the graves and the handling of the investigations.

The incidents occurred amid a conflict within the Sinaloa cartel, resulting in numerous casualties and disappearances. Several individuals linked to the La Chapiza faction have been arrested in connection with the Vizsla Silver kidnapping.

Vizsla Silver’s operations are situated in an area affected by the cartel conflict. The chaos in the region has complicated the investigations, with concerns raised about the attention given to Osorio Sánchez’s case compared to the high-profile Vizsla Silver workers’ investigation.

The family and their legal representatives are striving for justice and urging authorities to prioritize Osorio Sánchez’s case. The uncertainty surrounding the investigations and the lack of closure weigh heavily on the family as they seek accountability and closure in the tragic loss of their loved one.
