“Gascoigne’s Life Story to Hit TV Screens”

A television series based on the life story of Paul Gascoigne is in the works, with producers currently holding auditions to cast actors for his family members. The show will chronicle his remarkable journey from a modest upbringing in Gateshead to his peak of fame at Italia ’90. Gascoigne has expressed his commitment to portraying the struggles of his addiction and stints in rehab facilities both in the UK and abroad.

Auditions are underway to fill key roles for the series, including parts for his siblings Carl, Lindsay, and Anna. In a recent interview, the 58-year-old former football star recounted his personal battle with alcoholism, highlighting a critical moment during his rehab in Arizona in 2013 when he felt he had reached rock bottom.

The upcoming TV series, titled “Gazza: The Life Story,” will delve into Gascoigne’s childhood and early years, showcasing the unwavering support he received from his family, particularly his mother Carol. Gascoigne praised his mother’s influence on his life, emphasizing her role in nurturing his passion for football from a young age.

In his latest book, ‘Eight’, Gascoigne reflects on his emotional return to Heathfield School in Gateshead after the 1990 World Cup, where his tearful performance on the field garnered global attention. Despite facing doubters in his past, Gascoigne remains a strong advocate for pursuing dreams and overcoming challenges.

Discussions are ongoing with various television networks to secure a broadcasting deal for the anticipated drama series. Gascoigne’s 2022 documentary, ‘Gazza,’ which aired on BBC2, received acclaim and was honored with the ‘Best Documentary Series’ award at the 2023 Royal TV Society Awards.
