Manchester United Open to Fernandes Exit if £56.68M Clause Activated

Published:

Manchester United is reportedly open to letting go of Bruno Fernandes if a club activates his £56.68 million release clause. The 31-year-old midfielder caught the attention of Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian team, during the recent transfer window but declined their offer of a reported £700,000-per-week salary. Fernandes reiterated his commitment to Manchester United, stating that he will not consider his future at Old Trafford until after the 2026 World Cup.

According to reports, Fernandes’ contract, which runs until the summer of 2027 with a possible extension, includes a provision allowing him to leave England if a non-English club meets the specified fee. Despite interest from European clubs and Saudi Arabia, no formal offers have been made to Manchester United, who are keen on retaining the talented midfielder but are willing to facilitate his departure if he desires to move.

Since joining United from Sporting CP in 2020 for £47 million, Fernandes has been a pivotal player, contributing significantly with 100 goals and 87 assists in 299 appearances. He disclosed conversations with United’s CEO and football director, where the club expressed a desire for him to stay but acknowledged the possibility of a substantial transfer fee if he opts to leave.
