Marks & Spencer has initiated a prompt recall of Milk Chocolate Honeycomb packs due to a potential severe allergy hazard. The High Street retailer announced the recall as a precautionary measure following the discovery of undisclosed peanuts in a limited number of packages. Emphasizing customer safety as a top priority, a company spokesperson emphasized the seriousness with which issues related to food production are treated.
The affected batches, identified with a best before date of May 12, 2026, and lot number 5242, are under recall. Consumers with peanut allergies who have purchased this specific batch are advised against consuming it and encouraged to return it to the nearest Marks & Spencer store for a full refund. The recall only applies to 120g packs bearing the specified date codes and lot numbers, with no other M&S products impacted.
The Food Standards Agency issued an alert stating that Marks & Spencer is recalling the identified product and has been advised to notify relevant allergy support organizations to inform their members about the recall. Additionally, the company has released a notice at point-of-sale for customers’ awareness.
Individuals with peanut allergies who have purchased the product are urged not to consume it and to return it to any store for a refund. For further details, customers can contact Marks & Spencer at 03330 148555.
In a separate recall event, Aldi has withdrawn certain tubs of Gianni’s Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream from shelves due to the presence of undeclared wheat (gluten), posing a potential health risk to individuals with coeliac disease or wheat allergies. The impacted products are 500ml in size and have a best before date of August 14, 2027.
