“MP’s LGBT-Hamas Comparison Sparks Backlash”

Published:

Nigel Farage is under renewed pressure to address a situation involving one of his MPs who recently made a controversial comparison between supporting LGBT rights and endorsing Hamas. This comment by Danny Kruger, disclosed by The Mirror, has been strongly criticized by a Labour MP as being unacceptable.

During a Reform UK promotional event on YouTube, Mr. Kruger expressed concerns about a potential future where the UK aligns with an “LGBT supporting” faction. In response, Labour’s Peter Swallow emphasized the importance of LGBT rights in British values and urged MPs to clarify this stance to Mr. Kruger and Reform.

Mr. Swallow, highlighting the significance of supporting LGBT rights, condemned the likening of such support to backing Hamas, a terrorist group known for persecuting LGBT individuals. He called for a unified effort across Parliament to reaffirm the fundamental nature of LGBT rights in British values.

The Mirror has reached out to Reform for a response on this matter. Mr. Kruger, son of Prue Leith, warned of a potential rise of an “appalling Hamas-supporting, LGBT-supporting nationalist party” in the UK. He expressed concerns about various political factions in the country joining forces against the UK’s interests.

Polly Billington, Labour MP for East Thanet, criticized Mr. Kruger’s remarks as divisive and harmful, particularly towards the LGBT community. She called for Nigel Farage to condemn such statements that could impact communities negatively.
