“Psychopath Woman Admits to Poisoning 10 Dogs and Killing Man”

Published:

A woman described as a “psychopath” has admitted to poisoning 10 dogs while adjusting the levels of a toxic substance she planned to use for a killing spree. A 65-year-old man passed away after consuming a “toxic bean stew,” falling sick at home before being hospitalized. Authorities suspect foul play in the death of Neil Correa da Silva, alleging a sinister scheme orchestrated by his daughter and another woman, Ana Paula Veloso, to poison him and shift the blame onto an innocent party.

The victim and his daughter reportedly had a strained relationship, and on the night of Correa da Silva’s illness, both women were present at the property in Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Investigators claim that Veloso, labeled a “serial killer,” is also linked to three other deaths. She confessed to poisoning 10 dogs to test the poison’s effectiveness on the victim, ensuring his demise would appear natural.

Police chief Halisson Ideiao revealed, “She admits to killing 10 dogs with this poison, experimenting with the method and timing, knowing the precise dosage and effects on those who ingested it.” Another team member stated, “Her killings were calculated, not impulsive.”

Authorities discovered terbufos, a rat poison slightly less potent than lead, in Veloso’s residence. Text messages between Veloso and da Silva’s daughter, Michele Paiva da Silva, a 43-year-old bus driver and law student, allegedly discuss their plan to poison the elderly man. The conspiracy allegedly involves Veloso’s twin sister Roberta, who is accused of aiding and abetting. Reportedly, Michele paid Veloso R$4,000 (£560) to travel to Rio and carry out the murders, including that of Neil, under her instructions.

Police suspect that Veloso tried to frame another individual by faking an attempt on her life, portraying herself as a victim. The police chief stated, “Ana Paula Veloso presented herself to the police station claiming someone poisoned a cake at a college to frame a third party. Our investigation revealed she was not a victim but a serial killer.”

Neil passed away on April 26 at a local hospital, and authorities plan to exhume his body for further analysis. Veloso is also accused of attempting to shift blame by pretending to be a victim of poisoning herself.
