“Sky Launches HBO Max for Ultimate TV Package Subscribers”

Published:

Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, the latest streaming service, has now launched. Sky Ultimate TV package subscribers can enjoy HBO Max for free, gaining access to popular shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more without the usual £4.99 monthly fee, saving over £50. The service includes a vast library of HBO dramas, such as Succession and The Wire, alongside new Max Originals like The Pitt and a collection of Warner Bros. films.

Sky has confirmed that customers with Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. To start streaming, users simply need to launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions for activation. Once set up, all content is available on-demand.

For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV package, switching to it from £22 per month (increasing to £24 from April 1st) allows access to over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service. Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, stated that this integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu marks a new era for entertainment subscriptions, providing a wide range of content in a seamless experience.

NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max at no additional cost, integrated into the NOW app. Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
