In the emotional interview released on Thursday, Jake recounted the heart-wrenching phone call he received from his sister, Romy, who made the grim discovery.
“Romy informed me about our father’s demise and then expressed her inability to locate our mother,” Jake revealed to Cota-Robles during the extensive interview. “I was immediately overcome by shock.”
On July 20, Nick was formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the deaths of his renowned filmmaker, actor, and activist father, Rob Reiner, and his mother, Michele, a talented photographer and producer. Nick pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The indictment, unveiled on August 12 by the LA County grand jury, alleged that Nick, who had a well-documented history of mental health issues and substance abuse struggles, had premeditated the attack on his parents.
