A man from the UK passed away after collapsing at the summit of a mountain during a hike to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. The 63-year-old suffered a heart attack at Ella Rock in southern Sri Lanka, a challenging climb that they embarked on to mark her 34th birthday on October 25.
Upon reaching the peak, the father suddenly collapsed, as confirmed by the authorities. He was immediately taken to Bandarawela Hospital but unfortunately could not be revived. An autopsy revealed that he had a heart attack.
The man and his daughter arrived in Sri Lanka on October 16 and had been exploring different places, including the town of Weligama, before heading to Ella Rock. The Foreign Office spokesperson expressed condolences and mentioned that they are assisting the family during this difficult time.
This tragic incident occurred shortly after the death of a British fashion and travel influencer, Ebony McIntosh, who fell ill during her trip to Sri Lanka. Ebony, 24, passed away after being hospitalized for symptoms like vomiting, nausea, and respiratory issues. Her sister India shared a touching tribute on social media, expressing her deep sorrow and longing for her sister.
India’s heartfelt message conveyed her pain and desire for justice for Ebony, highlighting the immense loss felt by her family. The community mourns the untimely loss of both individuals and extends sympathies to their loved ones.
