Apple has rolled out a crucial update for iPhone users to address a wireless charging issue affecting some devices. The glitch has been hindering wireless charging, forcing impacted users to rely on MagSafe for recharging.
Although Apple mentions that only a small number of users have experienced this problem, it is advisable for all iPhone owners to ensure their devices are updated.
The iPhone 17 series, including the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air, are confirmed to require the update to resolve the charging issue, particularly when the battery is nearly depleted.
To update the affected devices, users can navigate to Settings, select General, and then tap on Software Update. The update, labeled as iOS 26.5.1, is approximately 13.6GB in size and should be downloaded over a Wi-Fi connection or with unlimited mobile data.
In the upcoming week, Apple is anticipated to kick off its annual WWDC Developers Conference on June 8, where the company is expected to introduce the new iOS 27 upgrade. This update is projected to bring a host of new features to iPhones, potentially enhancing their artificial intelligence capabilities.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed excitement for the upcoming WWDC event, highlighting the collaboration and innovation that the global developer community brings to the forefront.
