Apple is hosting its annual WWDC Developers Conference at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, unveiling a range of updates for its products. The iPhone is set to receive new features later this year, enhancing customization, parental controls, app launching speed, and Siri’s functionality. These updates are expected to provide the most significant benefits to users with compatible Apple Intelligence devices.
Initially introduced in 2024, Apple Intelligence faced challenges with several promised features not being delivered. The tech giant has been diligently working to enhance this innovative service, preparing to roll out these improvements to the general public.
Upon its release in September, Apple Intelligence is poised to simplify users’ lives by organizing calendars and offering contextual one-tap suggestions based on conversations in Messages. For example, receiving a message requesting “photos of mum” will prompt Apple Intelligence to display relevant images from the user’s photo library.
Safari browser updates include a new feature called Notify Me, enabling users to monitor web pages for changes such as product restocks or price drops. Additionally, Safari now automatically organizes tabs by topic for improved browsing experience.
Notably, Apple Intelligence introduces significant enhancements to photo editing capabilities, including better retouching and object removal functions. Users can now extend backgrounds seamlessly without requiring advanced editing skills. Spatial Reframing is a new feature that allows users to adjust photo composition after capturing the shot, eliminating the need to live with slightly off-center images.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to create user-friendly products. The updated Apple Intelligence, with features tailored for web browsing, creativity expression, photo editing, and more, represents a significant step in integrating powerful AI into Apple platforms for enhanced personalization and utility.
The enhanced Apple Intelligence will be available in iOS 27 this fall, supporting devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 range, iPhone 17 models, and the iPhone Air.
