Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open on Wednesday evening. Despite serving 13 aces compared to Tiafoe’s five, Auger-Aliassime committed 37 unforced errors, while Tiafoe only had 16 errors. Tiafoe, seeded 17th, secured the win in one hour and 40 minutes.
In the third-round doubles match, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Barbora Krejcikova from Czechia were defeated by the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, normally partners with Luisa Stefani, but Stefani has been sidelined due to an elbow injury in recent weeks.
