Taylor Ruck Wins Gold at World Aquatics Swimming World Cup

Taylor Ruck, a 26-year-old swimmer from Kelowna, B.C., showcased her excellence at the second leg of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup series by clinching the gold medal for Canada on Saturday. Ruck dominated the women’s 200-meter backstroke event, finishing with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 2.41 seconds.

In a closely contested race, Anna Peplowski from the United States secured the second position with a time of 2:02.71, while Japan’s Waka Kobori claimed the third spot with a time of 2:06.99.

Ruck, a four-time Olympic medalist, also demonstrated her skills by winning silver medals in both the women’s 100-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle earlier in the competition. Canada had a successful outing in Tashkent, accumulating a total of seven medals, including one gold, three silver, and three bronze.

The World Aquatics Swimming World Cup series will wrap up its final leg next week in Kazakhstan.
