AEW Star Pac, Known for Black Arrow Move, Dies at 40

Published:

Benjamin Satterley, a renowned English professional wrestler and a key figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) based in the U.S., has passed away at the age of 40. The news of Satterley’s death, known as Pac in the ring, was shared by AEW on their social media platforms on Sunday evening. The cause of his death has not been disclosed. Satterley had performed on television the night before his passing, engaging in a match against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.

Described as a wrestler who captivated audiences with his innovative aerial maneuvers and exceptional in-ring skills, Satterley, who held various AEW Championships, was praised for his memorable performances throughout his career. Born in Newcastle, England, Satterley kickstarted his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. and went on to compete in various independent wrestling circuits worldwide, including Japan and Mexico, earning a reputation for his blend of acrobatic moves and strong physique.

Having commenced his wrestling training at the age of 18, inspired by his aunt’s passion for WWF, Satterley went on to showcase his talent in World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018 under the alias Adrian Neville. He later joined AEW in 2019, where he wrestled alongside and against top talents in the industry, securing several championships, including the inaugural international title.

Notably, Satterley was known for his signature move, the black arrow, a twisting dive executed from the top rope, earning him the moniker “The man that gravity forgot.” Throughout his career, he often portrayed a villainous character in the ring, using the persona of “The Bastard,” which he occasionally infused with humor, as seen in his match against Orange Cassidy in 2020.

Highly respected for his talent and humility, Satterley kept a low profile outside the wrestling realm, rarely making public appearances out of character. Following his untimely death, tributes poured in from fellow wrestlers and colleagues, highlighting his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport.

Satterley’s passing marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler within a month, following the death of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, in September. The wrestling community mourns the loss of these talented individuals who contributed significantly to the industry.
