This has sparked curiosity about the current ownership of Canadian businesses and infrastructure, and whether there could be shifts in ownership dynamics with the government’s focus on attracting more external investments.
Earlier this year, Marc Lee, a senior economist at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, penned an article titled “Masters in our own house,” examining the extent to which foreign entities hold ownership in our economy. He delves into the implications of a new influx of foreign investments on Canada’s sovereignty.
