FAA Investigates Delta-Air Canada Plane Contact

Published:

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation following an incident where a Delta Air Lines plane made contact with an Air Canada aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday. The FAA reported that the event occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time while the Delta plane was in the process of taxiing for departure, and the Air Canada plane was being towed towards the gate.

An Air Canada representative confirmed that there were no injuries resulting from the incident. Sean Davidson, spokesperson for Air Canada, stated that the contact between the aircraft occurred after Air Canada Flight 785 had landed from Toronto and another airline’s aircraft made contact with its tail. The affected plane will undergo inspection and necessary repairs as a precaution.

According to the FAA, the Delta plane’s left wingtip came into contact with the Air Canada aircraft’s horizontal stabilizer, a wing-like structure located at the tail of an aircraft.
