“Generous couple donates 450 trees to wildfire-stricken community”

A generous couple from the Codroy Valley has brought hope to the Town of Small Point-Broad Cove-Blackhead-Adam’s Cove, which suffered from severe wildfires last summer. Harrison Bragg and Judy Warren, owners of a nursery business, donated over 450 trees to the community after deciding to close their business.

Despite facing a seven-hour delay due to a vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada highway, Bragg and Warren persevered and finally reached Conception Bay North. They distributed the trees to grateful residents who had lost much in the fires.

The couple’s act of kindness was well-received by the community, with many expressing gratitude and sharing stories of loss and resilience. Warren was deeply moved by the residents’ emotional reactions, especially from a woman rebuilding her garden after losing it to the wildfires.

Mayor Curtis Delaney praised Bragg and Warren for their selfless donation, emphasizing that the impact of their gesture extended beyond the trees. Delaney expressed gratitude for the couple’s thoughtfulness and support during a challenging time for the community.

Looking ahead, Bragg plans to send thousands of seeds to the community next summer to further contribute to the reforestation efforts. Their commitment to restoring greenery to the area reflects their genuine desire to help the community recover and thrive once again.
