Hudson Williams made a grand entrance in Toronto, transforming King Street into a lively celebration upon his arrival on Thursday. Enthusiastic fans captured the moment with their phones, cheering and eagerly seeking autographs and selfies. Outside the TIFF Lightbox, devoted followers patiently waited for up to 12 hours to catch a glimpse of the acclaimed star from “Heated Rivalry” and secure tickets to his premiere.

Williams graced Toronto for a special in-conversation event and the unveiling of his upcoming project, “Yaga,” a thrilling series inspired by Slavic folklore with a touch of sensuality, set to debut in October. Fans can anticipate a double dose of Williams as he takes on two distinct roles within the show.

“Yaga,” filmed earlier this year on Vancouver Island, follows a detective investigating the disappearance of a prominent young heir in a quaint coastal town, unraveling a web of hidden truths. The series features a stellar Canadian ensemble including familiar faces like Noah Reid, Carrie-Anne Moss, Clark Backo, Sheila McCarthy, and the iconic Megan Follows of “Anne of Green Gables.”

During the world premiere at TIFF, CBC News captured the essence of the evening. While Williams remained silent to the media, his co-star Moss expressed her confidence in his performance, stating, “He’s doing great.”

The premiere highlighted not only the excitement surrounding Williams but also the pride in the Canadian talent involved in the production. Reid, known for his role in “Schitt’s Creek,” shared his admiration for the collaborative and supportive nature of the Canadian creative community, emphasizing a shared pursuit of excellence.

Backo, who stars alongside Reid, echoed the sentiment, acknowledging the growing appreciation for Canadian projects and the investment in local content. “Yaga” originated from a play by Kat Sandler, reflecting a shift towards embracing and celebrating Canadian narratives and talent.

Moss, portraying a captivating professor in the series, emphasized the importance of being part of a distinctly Canadian production, underscoring the richness and diversity of stories emerging from the country. With anticipation building, “Yaga” is set to premiere on Crave in the coming month.
