Apple has commenced its latest WWDC Developers Conference at its futuristic headquarters in Cupertino. This annual event serves as the platform for the tech giant to unveil its upcoming significant software enhancements, with the confirmation of the impending arrival of iOS 27 in Autumn to supersede iOS 26 as Apple’s latest operating system.
Upon installation, iOS 27 will introduce various improvements, such as enhanced options to personalize the Liquid Glass interface, more efficient file-finding methods, and an advanced Siri capable of composing emails, scheduling events, and assisting in ticket bookings for forthcoming concerts.
Apple has assured that even users of older iPhones will experience improved responsiveness due to a feature known as CPU Scheduler.
Overall, across all devices, speed enhancements are expected. Apple boasts that iPhone and iPad applications will launch up to 30% faster, photos will load up to 70% faster post-capture, and AirDrop transfers will be up to 80% quicker.
A significant addition that will benefit parents with children using connected devices is the introduction of a new set of intuitive features designed to empower parents to manage the content accessible to their children, control communication interactions, and regulate app access more effectively.
Simplified setup procedures, accompanied by features like “Ask to Browse,” “Time Allowances,” and a new Screen Time feature, aim to reduce concerns when passing iPhones to children.

Apple is currently finalizing the comprehensive list of changes, but has confirmed that all iPhones running iOS 26 will be eligible for the upgrade to iOS 27.
