A 10-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after getting partially impaled on metal railings in an incident this afternoon. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and firefighters, responded to Wadeson Road in Walton, Liverpool, around 3:25 pm on Friday, October 31, following reports of the child’s bicycle accident.
Witnesses stated that the boy lost control of his bike while turning a corner, leading to him falling onto a garden fence. A cordon was established at the junction of Wadeson Road and Frampton Road to secure the area.
According to a neighbor, the boy seemed to have sustained an injury to his stomach. The neighbor mentioned being unaware of the incident until the police arrived, requesting camera footage for investigation. The presence of multiple police cars created a tense atmosphere.
The injured boy was heard shouting about his stomach, prompting a neighbor to assist him and call for an ambulance. The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire engines and a search and rescue team to the scene within minutes of being alerted at 3:22 pm.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their involvement in assisting the North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Police at the scene. The rescue operation involved carefully removing the conscious and breathing boy, who was in pain, from the railing before transferring him to paramedics for further medical attention.
Merseyside Police also confirmed their attendance at the accident, involving a 10-year-old boy who was cycling on Wadeson Road. The boy, the sole individual involved in the incident, was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
