“EDF Sunday Saver: Free Electricity, Bill Credits & EV Tariffs”

Published:

EDF introduces a cost-saving initiative where customers can enjoy free electricity on Sundays by decreasing their electricity usage during peak hours on weekdays. The Sunday Saver challenge is back for February, requiring customers to shift their electricity consumption away from the peak hours of 4pm to 7pm each weekday.

Participants stand to receive between four and 16 hours of complimentary electricity the subsequent Sunday. EDF customers can engage in four Sunday Saver challenges during February, scheduled for February 15 and 22, as well as March 1 and 8. Customers with smart meters can enroll in the program until Sunday, February 1.

EDF reports that more than 260,000 households have already secured over 17 million hours of free electricity through the Sunday Saver initiative, resulting in £5.2 million in bill credits for customers. Additionally, over 100,000 customers benefited from eight hours of free electricity over the Christmas period, with EDF granting a total of 910,536 free hours of electricity to households.

One satisfied participant, Natasha Shields from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has accumulated over 680 free hours on Sundays through the program. Shields expressed gratitude for the cost-saving opportunity, emphasizing how the initiative has helped her family cope with rising living expenses.

Jon Perks, the Sales & Marketing Director at EDF, highlighted the significance of the Sunday Saver program during the winter season, providing customers with a practical way to reduce costs. Through the Energy Hub, households can monitor their electricity usage and identify opportunities to save power, contributing to a more sustainable energy grid.

Customers can track their Sunday Saver progress on the Energy Hub via MyAccount, receiving personalized insights into their household’s energy consumption. In related news, EDF is offering £50 credit to new and existing customers signing up for any of its electric vehicle tariffs within the next month. The electric vehicle tariffs include benefits such as five hours of cheaper electricity every night from 12am to 5am for both homes and cars.
