In addition to the stolen AirPods found on his person at the time of arrest, the surprising discovery of the chocolate bars caught the attention of the police.

The man was taken into custody by Merseyside Police on Thursday under suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods. He has since been interrogated at a local police station. Constable Wilton from the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Liverpool city center commended the swift action of the police in apprehending the suspect, emphasizing the ongoing investigation to identify businesses affected by recent chocolate thefts.

Following the news of the chocolate-related arrest, online users engaged in lighthearted banter. One commenter humorously remarked about having enough chocolate for the station staff, while another quipped about the suspect being a “fruit and nut case.” The playful exchanges continued, with users joking about the situation and offering humorous remarks.

In a separate incident, a serial shoplifter named Richard Brown, aged 46, was sentenced to jail for a spree of thefts from various high street chains, including Greggs, Co-op, JD Sport, and M&S, in what was described as a ‘one-man crime wave’. Brown admitted to 20 thefts totaling over £1,500 worth of alcohol and food taken from stores across Nottinghamshire during the summer. His criminal activities were captured on CCTV, leading to his eventual arrest after being spotted by police at a Specsavers store.

Brown’s thefts targeted supermarkets and shops in different areas between May and August, with his criminal behavior culminating in his arrest. His stolen items included alcoholic spirits, clothing, meat, and other food items from a range of stores. Brown’s extensive criminal record, involving 266 offenses over three decades, ultimately led to a 14-month jail sentence and a financial penalty imposed by Nottingham Crown Court.
