Renowned musician Craig David is set to debut his latest Just Eat advertisement hit in a live performance at a London cafe, delighting a select group of fans. The iconic artist will showcase ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava’ at Johnnies Cafe in Camberwell, situated in south east London, on November 13th, from 7pm to 10pm.
The event, inspired by a survey of 1,000 adults conducted by Just Eat, underscores the significant role local takeaways and convenience stores play in British communities, with 80% of respondents viewing them as community cornerstones and 32% considering the owners as extended family members.
With a focus on the family-operated Johnnies Cafe, the event highlights the desire of 62% of Brits to express gratitude to their beloved local takeaway establishment. Just Eat aims to honor this community institution with a grand celebration where patrons, both regulars and newcomers, can demonstrate their appreciation for the cafe’s 50-year service to the neighborhood.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming performance, Craig David shared, “I’m excited for this opportunity. Performing my TS5 set at Johnnies Cafe and unveiling my Just Eat track, ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava,’ live for the first time is going to be an incredible experience.”
Sonny, the proprietor of Johnnies Cafe, reflected on the cafe’s longstanding commitment to the Camberwell community, stating, “It is both a privilege and an honor to host this special event with Craig David in collaboration with Just Eat, as we have been proudly serving breakfast to the community since 1975.”
Claire Pointon from Just Eat emphasized the importance of local establishments like Johnnies, acknowledging their vital role in communities. The event celebrates the enduring legacy of Johnnies, a family-run establishment that has been a cornerstone of Camberwell for five decades.
The track ‘Every Neighbour Got Their Flava’ symbolizes the evolution of Just Eat delivery services in people’s lives. A recent study by Just Eat revealed that over half of Brits (54%) use delivery apps to mark significant life events, such as birthdays and anniversaries. Additionally, a substantial portion of respondents utilize delivery services for mid-week meals, grocery restocks, and even last-minute holiday essentials.
The song’s lyrics, including references to everyday scenarios like date night mishaps and family chaos, pay homage to the diverse range of products and dishes available on Just Eat, from groceries and takeout to pharmacy and electronics.
