“EE Introduces Enhanced Scam Guard to Combat Mobile Scams”

Published:

EE has rolled out an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing threat of scams targeting mobile users in the UK. This upgrade, priced at £2 per month for all EE pay-monthly mobile customers, aims to provide improved protection against cyber threats.

Since its initial launch in 2024, EE’s Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the latest upgrade, the telecom company expects to double the prevention of scams over the next year.

The new Scam Guard features AI Triple-Lock Protection, a set of digital safety measures powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine. These include Safe Email, offering round-the-clock scam protection for email accounts, and Safe SMS, which uses advanced AI to detect and block sophisticated scams in text messages. Additionally, Safe Web safeguards customers while browsing online, blocking malicious websites before any harm occurs.

Moreover, the upgraded Scam Guard introduces Scam Assistant, enabling users to upload screenshots of suspicious messages or websites for instant feedback on their safety. Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring are also included to detect and alert users to any suspicious online activities promptly.

Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product, Mobile at EE, emphasized the importance of staying ahead of evolving fraud tactics, stating that the enhanced Scam Guard service reflects EE’s commitment to providing top-notch cyber security protection to its customers.
