“Teenage Sensation Littler Predicted Showdown with Suljovic at World Darts Championship”

Published:

Luke Littler has disclosed that Mensur Suljovic had predicted their encounter in the third round before the commencement of the World Darts Championship. Littler, an 18-year-old player, advanced in the tournament by defeating Welsh competitor David Davies in straight sets, continuing his title defense.

Remaining a strong contender at Alexandra Palace, Littler’s odds further improved as Gerwyn Price, his potential quarter-final opponent, was eliminated by Wesley Plaisier. Suljovic, on the other hand, triumphed over Joe Cullen in a contentious match during the afternoon session.

Cullen expressed frustration towards Suljovic’s deliberate pace during their match, accusing him of ‘cheating’ on social media. Despite the criticism, Suljovic remained focused on his upcoming games.

Anticipating a showdown with Littler from the outset, Suljovic sent a brief message to the young player following his victory over Davies. In a post-match interview, Littler shared the playful message he received from the experienced Suljovic, expressing enthusiasm for their impending clash in the tournament.

As tensions rose between Cullen and Suljovic due to the latter’s playing speed, Littler aimed to maintain composure during their upcoming match. Cullen, visibly displeased with Suljovic, confronted him after their match and criticized his behavior on social media.

Littler’s path to the final appears more favorable as key competitors like Cullen, Ryan Joyce, and Chris Dobey were eliminated from the championship. The PDC World Darts Championship started on December 11, with live coverage available exclusively through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
