“Tragic Plane Crash in Kenya Claims 12 Lives”

Published:

Authorities in Kenya have reported a plane crash in the coastal region of Kwale, where it is feared that 12 individuals have lost their lives.

The small aircraft went down earlier today en route to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The incident occurred in a mountainous area approximately 25 miles from Diani airstrip, according to officials.

Stephen Orinde, the Kwale County Commissioner, informed The Associated Press that the passengers onboard were believed to be foreign tourists, with their nationalities to be confirmed later. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has initiated an investigation into the crash’s cause.

The specific breakdown between crew members and passengers is currently unknown. The plane is said to have gone down shortly after takeoff, catching fire and resulting in a charred wreckage at the site, as per authorities.

Eyewitnesses informed the AP that they heard a loud noise, and upon reaching the crash site, they discovered unidentifiable human remains. Mombasa Air Safari, the airline involved, stated that they are working closely with the civil aviation authorities and will provide updates on the incident through official channels.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a well-known tourist spot, renowned for the annual wildebeest migration from Tanzania’s Serengeti.
