Terrifying video footage captured the moment a runaway tipper truck collided with a garbage truck and several cars after running through traffic lights in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 21st, when the out-of-control lorry descended a hill, as per police reports. Dashcam footage revealed the green light signaling the garbage truck and cars to proceed before the speeding tipper truck crashed into them, causing significant damage and debris on the road.
Upon receiving a report at 9:07 am, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department responded swiftly, arriving at the scene within nine minutes. Officials noted that the collision involved a tipper lorry, a garbage truck, and two Perodua Myvi cars. Rescue operations revealed three injured foreign men and a 34-year-old woman, who were all safely extracted from their vehicles before the arrival of firefighters and handed over to medical personnel.
Authorities later confirmed a total of six injuries, including the local 35-year-old tipper truck driver, with one victim sustaining a broken leg. The police detained the lorry driver for questioning and launched an investigation into the crash.
In a separate incident earlier this year, a lorry narrowly avoided a collision as it crossed the central reservation of a motorway, driving towards oncoming traffic. Peter Stone, 55, narrowly evaded the lorry’s path while driving his Porsche 911 between Cullompton and Exeter in Devon. Stone’s quick reflexes allowed him to swerve and avoid a potentially fatal accident as the lorry barreled down the wrong side of the motorway.
Describing the close call, Stone remarked on the suddenness of the situation, crediting his swift reaction for preventing a catastrophe. Despite the intense moment, there were no reported injuries from the incident, leaving Stone thankful for the fortunate outcome.
