“Bulgaria Tops List for Affordable Family Summer Vacations”

Published:

Bulgaria has been identified as the top destination for an affordable summer holiday this year, particularly recommended for families. TravelSupermarket, a travel website, has disclosed the most cost-effective countries for all-inclusive sunny vacations in 2026. According to their data analysis of family holiday searches from last October to the present, Bulgaria takes the lead with an average price of £760 per person for a one-week stay. Following Bulgaria are Morocco at £852 and Malta at £862 per person for seven nights.

Comparing 13 popular holiday spots, the average cost of a week in Bulgaria has decreased by £54 per person, accounting for a 7% reduction since the previous summer. On the other end of the spectrum, Cyprus stands out as the most expensive destination with a price tag of £1,186 per person. Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, secured the fourth spot on this year’s list with an average cost of £888, maintaining similar prices to the previous year. Turkey ranks 11th at £1,057, and Greece follows in 12th place at £1,096.

For the upcoming summer, Croatia is the 10th most affordable destination with an average cost of £1,046 per person. Remarkably, the price of a typical trip to Croatia has dropped by 12% compared to last year, making it £136 cheaper this season. For long-haul travelers seeking value, Cape Verde offers the best deal at £1,247 per person, followed by the United Arab Emirates (£1,297), the Dominican Republic (£1,664), and Mexico (£1,694).

According to Chris Webber, the head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, “Bulgaria seems poised to regain its status as the ultimate budget-friendly all-inclusive destination.” He also noted that despite price increases, Tunisia and Morocco continue to rank among the top five most affordable countries, ensuring great value for families. The significant price drop in Croatia is particularly welcomed news for families who perceived it as an expensive destination, especially after adopting the Euro in January 2023.
