“La Ronde Amusement Park Closes Goliath Ride After Tragic Incident”

Published:

Montreal’s La Ronde amusement park has decided to temporarily close one of its popular rides following a tragic incident on a roller-coaster at a Six Flags park in Georgia, United States. The fatal accident, which occurred on the Goliath ride, has prompted the park to shut down its own Goliath roller-coaster as a precautionary measure. La Ronde stated that the ride will remain closed until further instructions are received from the manufacturer.

Although Six Flags no longer owns La Ronde, it was responsible for the park’s attractions, including the Goliath, before the park was acquired by EPR Properties earlier this year. In response to the incident at Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags temporarily closed nine roller-coasters across six amusement parks on Monday.

Carole Bricault, the director of communications at La Ronde, expressed deep condolences to all those affected by the tragic incident at Six Flags Over Georgia. The specifics of the incident, including the cause of death and the conditions of the injured individuals, have not been confirmed yet by officials. The Cobb County Police Department’s major crimes unit detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.

The decision to close the Goliath ride at La Ronde is part of the park’s efforts to ensure the safety of its visitors in light of the recent events in Georgia. The amusement park is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
