A shift in weather patterns is expected to bring warmer temperatures to Britain after the recent cold spell, as per meteorologists. The country experienced low single-digit temperatures and even reached 0C in some northern areas due to a persistent cold Arctic air mass. However, the upcoming days are predicted to see a significant rise in temperatures across many regions, with daytime highs reaching 15C on Tuesday and possibly hitting 16C in southern England by the end of the week.
The Met Office forecasts indicate a change in the weather system, with cloud cover and rain moving in from the northwest and spreading southeast across the country in the next 24 hours. The shift in weather patterns is expected to bring milder conditions as the week progresses, with the possibility of more Atlantic weather moving in and further temperature increases.
Exacta Weather’s James Madden anticipates additional wintry showers in Scotland, particularly on higher ground, with the cold weather potentially lasting until Halloween. Despite wet and windy conditions in recent days, the weather is likely to improve, with lighter and less impactful rain showers expected. Brighter spells and variable cloud cover are forecasted for most parts of the country by midweek.
Monday is expected to start with sunny spells and isolated showers, followed by heavy rain moving in by the evening in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The southeast regions are likely to remain dry. The weather is expected to remain changeable, with occasional rain or showers, especially in the northwest, while the southeast regions are expected to be the driest and sunniest. Temperatures are forecasted to return to near-average levels for most areas.
