Surprisingly, common and weak passwords like “admin,” “123456,” and “password” continue to be widely used in the UK, posing a significant security risk. Cybersecurity experts emphasize the importance of using unique, complex passwords and avoiding commonly used ones to enhance online security.
Implementing two-factor authentication, creating longer passwords, and utilizing a password manager are recommended strategies to bolster account security. Matt Cooke, EMEA Cybersecurity Strategist at Proofpoint, highlights the significance of avoiding predictable passwords and updating them regularly to mitigate security risks.
To enhance password security, individuals are advised to use passphrases, generate unique passwords for each account, and employ a password manager for secure credential management.
