Former reality TV star and ex-president Donald Trump, known for his signature catchphrase “you’re fired” during his time on The Apprentice, seems to have lost his touch when it comes to dismissing people from his inner circle.
Howard Lutnick, Trump’s Secretary of Commerce, found himself at the center of controversy due to his connections with disgraced billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. While Lutnick initially downplayed his interactions with Epstein, new revelations from the Epstein Files shed light on additional meetings, including a lunch invitation sent by Lutnick’s wife to Epstein after his conviction as a child sex offender.
Contrary to his previous statements, Lutnick eventually admitted to meeting Epstein on his private island in 2012, showcasing a significant lapse in judgment. Despite mounting calls for Lutnick’s resignation, the White House vocally supported him, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt affirming Trump’s backing.
