The latest rankings for the top brands in the UK have been released, with Marks and Spencer leading the pack. According to the YouGov BrandIndex tool, which assesses various factors like impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation, and reputation over the past year, M&S emerged as the strongest brand in the UK.
Despite facing a cyber attack in 2025 that impacted online shopping capabilities for months, Marks and Spencer secured the top position. Following closely behind in the top five are IKEA, Samsung, John Lewis, and Netflix.
Additionally, the Post Office was recognized as the most improved brand, attributed to increased satisfaction and a positive shift in public perception following the Horizon IT scandal. Royal Mail and Fujitsu claimed the second and third spots for the most improved brands.
On a global scale, WhatsApp claimed the top spot in the best brand rankings, excelling particularly in markets like India and Indonesia. Samsung, YouTube, and Google followed suit in the top global brand rankings.
YouGov’s CEO and Co-founder, Stephan Shakespeare, emphasized the importance of strong brands that establish meaningful connections with consumers. He applauded the recognized brands for their enduring appeal and consumer trust.
Expressing gratitude for the acknowledgment, M&S CEO Stuart Machin highlighted the significance of customer feedback in shaping the brand’s success. He also commended the efforts of the team and emphasized the continuous drive for improvement and growth.
Looking ahead, Marks and Spencer remains committed to progress and seizing future opportunities, maintaining a stance of being “positively dissatisfied” to drive continuous enhancement and innovation.
